Liam Plunkett was the difference for England in the win over Bangladesh
With Tamim Iqbal at the crease and with slightly more than five overs remaining, Bangladesh were targeting a score in the region of 330.
Enter Liam Plunkett and in the space of two balls Bangladesh’s chances of posting a target that would truly stretch England were gone.
It was a similar story the previous weekend, when South Africa looked odds-on to comfortably chase England down and square the series.
Plunkett, again, had a decisive impact, removing AB de Villiers for 52 with a short ball that the South African captain could only glove to Jos Buttler behind the stumps.

It has been a remarkable turnaround for a bowler who had gone over four years without playing a one-day game for his country before England returned, battered, bruised and humiliated from the 2015 World Cup.
Not that Plunkett is any stranger to lengthy waits. The Champions Trophy is his first major tournament since playing in the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean.

"I'm at ease with myself, I know there are some days when you’re going to get whacked around the park, that’s just part and parcel of being a bowler in one-day cricket.
“I can accept that now. Maybe it was tougher in the past.”
