The roof is on for the Champions League final
Real Madrid face Juventus in the Champions League final at 7.45pm.
The roof would usually have been open for European club football’s showpiece event.
But with heightened security at the match it has been decided the roof should be closed.
Unfortunately for the fans in the stadium the pre-match pyrotechnics created plenty of smoke that took time to clear.
The Principality Stadium is the UKs biggest ground that has a fully retractable roof.
UEFA decided last week that the final should be played with the roof on, with anti-drone security reasons cited as one factor.

The decision came as the UK’s terror threat level rose to critical after the Manchester bombing last month.
That level has now been reduced to severe but security forces are taking no chances with thousands of fans heading to the Welsh capital.
Supporters of both Real Madrid and Juventus are expected to have to go through heavy security tonight and have been advised to reserve extra time to get into the stadium.
