Britney Spears' niece Maddie Aldridge has regained consciousness following her horrific ATV crash
Maddie, who is the daughter of Britney's 25-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, was airlifted to hospital within minutes after the all-terrain vehicle she was in flipped over into the family's pond, leaving her trapped underwater for two minutes.
She has been in a critical but stable condition since the crash occurred on Sunday, but has now woken up and is reportedly talking and recognising her family.
"Doctors were able to remove the ventilator today and she is awake and talking," the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office told People.

"Maddie continues to receive oxygen and is being monitored closely but it appears that she has not suffered any neurological consequences from the accident."
According to the police report, Maddie was driving the ATV on Sunday afternoon when she swerved to avoid a ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn and trap her in the water.
Both Jamie Lynn and her husband Jamie Watson rushed to help the eight-year-old, but could not free her from the safety belt, the website claims.
Paramedics rescued her when they arrived on the scene at the family home in Kentwood, Louisiana, and resuscitated her before rushing her to the nearby hospital.

She has been monitored around the clock since the horrific accident, and, in addition to Jamie Lynn and her step-father, reports state that Maddie's biological father Casey was by her side when she regained consciousness.
Following the traumatic accident, Jamie Lynn's family released a statement saying: "Right now the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciate all the prayers and support for their family."
Yesterday, Britney asked fans to pray for Maddie, tweeting: "Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece."
