The British & Irish Lions have landed in New Zealand ahead of the test series
Head coach Warren Gatland and his British & Irish Lions squad arrived in Auckland ahead of their 10-match tour, and received a traditional Maori welcome before they were even out of the airport terminal.
Gatland and captain Sam Warburton were given Hongi greetings while it was up to the Wales flanker to formally accept the All Blacks’ challenge during the powhiri ceremony.
The visitors responded to the greeting with the Welsh hymn Calon Lan, and look raring to go in the first match against a New Zealand Barbarians side in Whangarei on Saturday.
There are then five more matches to be played before the first test at Eden Park on June 24.
