In a statement, Metropolitan Police deputy assistant commissioner Neil Basu said the public may never truly know why Masood committed the horrific act of terror.
He said: "We must all accept that there is a possibility we will never understand why he did this.
"That understanding may have died with him."

The family of PC Keith Palmer, who courageously gave his life to stop the crazed attacker, said while they “miss him so much” they are “incredibly proud” of him.
They added the officer would be remembered for his "selfless bravery and loving nature".
