Merseyside Police have launched a murder investigation after a fatal stabbing of a teenager
An 18-year-old was found seriously injured by police responding to the scene, near Lodge Lane in the Toxteth area of the city.
The young man later died in hospital from his injuries.
A murder investigation has now been launched by Merseyside Police.

A statement from Merseyside Police said: "Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man in Toxteth last night, Friday, June 2.
“The man was found seriously injured around 8.30pm on Tagus Street off Lodge Lane and he has since been pronounced deceased at hospital.
"His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time.
“A Post Mortem will take place in due course and detectives will remain at the scene this morning as enquiries continue.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious is urged to contact our gun crime hotline on 0800 230 0600 or leave information anonymously and for free with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
The incident follows two gun attacks earlier this week in Fazakerley where a 43-year-old man was shot in the chest and Seaforth, where a 27-year-old man was shot in the arms and leg.

Both attacks happened within 25 minutes of each other on Thursday.
