Police were called to Barking station following reports of an "acid attack"
Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of an “acid attack”.
Paramedics are treating a man at Barking train station after an attacker “threw what is believed to have been a corrosive substance at him.”
Train passengers said two men were seen fighting on the platform before the “acid” was thrown.
Witnesses reported “carnage” at the station as commuters were evacuated from a waiting train over fears the brawl would move from the platform into a train carriage.

The Pitsea to London Fenchurch Street train was packed with commuters who were left horrified as the attack unfolded.
One witness, on the c2c train , described the fight, saying passengers were forced to intervene. She said: “One of them was throwing something from a bottle into carriage.
“Useless station staff, passengers had to intervene.”
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “A man was attacked by someone who threw what is believed to have been a corrosive substance at him.

“Officers are at the scene alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service who are treating the victim.
“We are in the early stages of the investigation but early indications suggest the victim and offender may have been known to each other.”
Eyewitnesses described the substance as “bleach” or “ammonia”, police are yet to confirm what the substance was.
One passenger said there was a “fight with something like ammonia being thrown”.
Emergency services were called to Barking station during rush hour
The victim is being treated by London Ambulance Service. His condition is unknown.
Train operator c2c said the train was stopped at Barking and commuters evacuated due to a “passenger incident”.
British Transport Police said anyone with information can call 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, or speak to officers who are in the area.
The call came into police at 8.24am causing chaos for commuters with services to London Fenchurch Street delayed and cancelled.
