Neymar grabbed his 51st goal in just 76 games for Brazil with a stunning finish in last night's 4-1 win over Uruguay in their World Cup qualifier.
At just 25 years old, he is well on course to take over Pele as Brazil's all-time leading goalscorer, who netted 77 times for his country in 92 appearances.
Neymar finished third in the 2015 Ballon d'Or but Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the illustrious award for the past nine years.
Miranda believes Neymar can win this year's Ballon d'Or
Neymar's Barcelona team-mate Messi has won it a record five times
The only players to have won the Ballon d'Or from Brazil are Ronaldinho (2005) and the Brazilian Ronaldo (1997, 2002).
But Miranda, who was given the captain's armband for the match against Uruguay, believes Neymar will become the third Brazilian to win the prestigious award.
"Nowadays, Neymar is the player who lives in the best moment," the Inter defender said.
