Blizzard news: World of Warcraft Gold update and Overwatch Doomfist reveal
Blizzard news this week has revealed that big changes are being made to how World of Warcraft gold can be used with other titles currently listed on Battlenet.
World of Warcraft Token are quite a new feature to the game and allow fans to purchase in-game gold with their real-world money.
Tokens can also be used to extend subscriptions and will soon also have a much bigger scope when it comes to other titles, such as Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone and Overwatch.
From today, WoW tokens can be converted for use to bolster your Battle.net balance.
This means fans from now on can buy what they want from other games, such as cards from Hearthstone, instead of converting it into 30 days of WoW game time.
Fans will need to look at the advantages of these exchanges and also make a note of if these prices are set to go higher due to the latest news.
The latest from Blizzard on the subject: “Buying a Token is simple: just visit the Auction House and use your hard-earned gold to purchase one of the WoW Tokens put up for sale.
“Once the Token arrives in your in-game mailbox, right-click it to add it to your bag, then right-click it in your inventory. You’ll then be able to choose whether to add 30 days of game time or add Battle.net Balance ($15 USD; currency and amount varies by region) to your Battle.net account.”
“The gold value of a Token is determined dynamically based on supply and demand. When you put a Token up for sale, you’ll be quoted the amount of gold you’ll receive upon a successful sale.
“If you then decide to place the Token up for sale, that amount is locked in, and the gold will be sent to your mailbox after your Token has been sold.”
The next Overwatch characters to be revealed could include Doomfist, a group of heroes who have featured as background figures for the game’s overarching lore.
Actor Terry Crews is hoping to fill the role and has been looking to drum up support among Blizzard fans to try and make it happen.

While there's been no official word about the role being offered to him, a new video has been posted, showing Crews auditioning for the role.
The voice acting is top-notch so fans should keep looking out for new teasers that might point to his eventual appointment.
Though he was never intended for a big role, it appears that fan feedback may have helped bring Doomfist to the Overwatch character roster.
But players haven’t stopped there, they also have a good idea who they want to play the role. Actor Terry Crews apparently is top of the list and it would seem that the feeling is mutual.
Crews has campaigned on Twitter in the past to become Doomfist, posting an article speculating over his inclusion while adding the caption: “Who wants to hear me do the voice of Doomfist for real?”
17K people have liked the Twitter post, however it’s unclear just what Blizzard have planned right now.
