Bethesda news: Fallout Shelter on Xbox One and PS4, Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind
Fallout Shelter on Xbox One just launched this week and now fans are asking whether they might see something similar for the PS4.
While it would seem pretty certain that a non-exclusive mobile game would be ported to both consoles as a standard, there’s one big difference.
Fallout Shelter on Xbox One was made possible as it was developed for Microsoft’s Universal Window platform, which allows gamers to play it on both Windows 10 and Xbox One.
This is reflected in Bethesda Studios VP Pete Hines’ answer on a PS4 version, who tweeted: “Dunno. We didn't make it for Xbox.
“We made it for universal windows platform, which supports a variety of devices.”
As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, player progress is retained across both Xbox One and Windows 10, meaning users can switch seamlessly between platforms and pick up where they left off, bringing all their saves, progress, and Achievements with them.

The game has also been fully adapted to work with the Xbox One controller, so players have an easier input device to control their dwellers.
Fallout Shelter thrusts players into the role of Overseer to build their own Vault, manage dwellers, and adventure through Fallout’s iconic wasteland.
And for those lapsed players who may have tried it out in 2015 and forgotten about their game, Bethesda has since released a wave of new content and features for the addictive mobile title.
The latest Fallout Shelter update expanded what new quests could be completed, you can read the latest patch notes from Bethesda below:
- Vault-Tec engineers have been working around the clock to find more Quests to keep your Dwellers busy!
- Turn a Dweller into a Secret Agent as they discover and foil a dastardly plot against your Vault!
- Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day! Send your Dwellers out to find that special someone!
- Who are the Horsemen of the Post-Apocalypse?
- Additional tuning to the simulation capacitors to address the unexpected Vault shut-down issues some Overseers were experiencing.

Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind arrives June 2017
The Elder Scrolls Online’s next big event has been launched, and no it’s not the ESO Morrowind expansion you may have spotted during Super Bowl 2017.
As you may have learnt from Bethesda last week, The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is set to be the next big expansion of the game on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
However, before the new ESO area was unveiled, fans already knew another free update was being cooked up for launch.
And today saw the official release of the new ESO Homestead content, which is now available to play on PC and Mac.
There are now 39 unique homes to choose from, which comes with a Housing Editor tools and over 2,000 individual home furnishings and decorations.
Fans have also been told that they can now own one of every home, with all dwellings account-bound, so all your characters can enjoy the comforts and conveniences of home.
There are two ways to obtain your first home in The Elder Scrolls Online. You can either choose any furnished or unfurnished home you like in the Crown Store, or go through the Homestead tutorial quest, known as “A Friend in Need", to obtain a free inn room.
For the tutorial quest, seek out Canthion the Wood Elf Housing Broker. Look for the “Housing Brochure" in the bank for every major non-DLC zone city. You can also find him at the following locations:
- Aldmeri Dominion: Auridon, Vulkhel Guard, in the Vulkhel Guard Manor & Treasury
- Daggerfall Covenant: Glenumbra, Daggerfall, in the Bank of Daggerfall
- Ebonheart Pact: Stonefalls, Davon's Watch, in the Uveran Bank
