During the first round of Monday's quiz show, Ben asked the contestants: "Between 1991 and 1999, Peter Schmeichel was the goalkeeper for which English football club?"
Confident Bev was first to buzz in, but appeared to have a mind blank and delivered the very incorrect answer of "Germany".
It was left to a bemused Ben to remind the contestant that the question demanded an English club, with the correct answer being Manchester United.

"Oh, my husband's going to be so cross with me!" poor Bev joked.
Viewers of the show immediately took to Twitter to share their bemusement with Ben, with one tweeting: "WOW JUST WOW."
Another sympathised with the unfortunate contestant, commenting: "#tippingpoint poor Bev, she seemed really nice."
The gaffe even gained some attention from the question's subject, Peter Schmeichel, who tweeted: "Hmm, what to think…. what to say."

Bev's mistake was not the only gaffe that Ben had to endure
However, Bev was not the only contestant to make a gaffe during the episode as another contestant confused "pork pie hat" for a "steak and ale pie hat".
Another contestant also falsely named Madonna in a list of British musicians.
Tipping Point continues weekdays on ITV at 4pm.
