The young boy was ushered through the police cordon and met his hero after Barcelona had just beaten Atletico 2-1.

Former Liverpool striker Suarez allowed the young boy to come through the crowd where he gave him a hug and signed his flag.

Even though the boy was sporting the opposition side's merchandise with an Atletico woolly hat on, it didn’t stop the Uruguayan forward.

In the footage Suarez can be seen walking alongside Lionel Messi as he leaves the stadium before he spots the young boy holding up the flag to his home nation.

Messi doubled Barcelona’s lead before Antoine Griezmann pulled one back in the second half to give the Nou Camp giants a one-goal advantage going into the second leg next week.

Images of this touching moment also show the kid holding the shirt Suarez had worn in the match against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.

The gesture brought applause and cheers from the rest of the crowd.

The child revealed that the footballer had told him “good job, champion”.
