The final saw Laurian Veaudour’s team from Cardiff’s Cocorico Patisserie go up against RAF chef Liam Grime and his companions in an epic eight-hour challenge.
However, just moments before the latter were named the 2017 champions, those at home spotted something far from tasty in one of their desserts.
As the camera cut to some of their fruit-adorned treats, there appeared to be a green insect walking across it.
Fans rushed to Twitter to discuss their shock, praying that neither judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden accidentally tucked into the creature.

However, despite the unusual ingredient making an appearance, the majority were chuffed the military cooks won with their World War Two themed offering.
The trio managed to turn their fate around after failing to impress with the first round of tasting, with people fearing it was all over for them.
Two tweets stated: “Aargh! The boys have blown it I reckon #GBBOCreme,”(sic) and: "I'm concerned the military boys have blown this with consistently poor creme anglaise #GBBOCreme.”
