Sebastian Kurz said he understands why Trump wants to build a border wall
Sebastian Kurz, reportedly the youngest Minister for Foreign Affairs in European history, backed Trump’s border wall because all US Presidents have tried and failed to control the illegal movements.
Speaking to Austria’s Press Agency, Mr Kurz said: “So far every American president has tried to regulate migration to the US, and every other country in the word is also trying to control migration and not to allow it to continue uncontrolled.”
Although Donald Trump’s border wall has sparked criticism from officials including those from the United Nations, Germany and France, Mr Kurz was keen to support Trump because he favours “classic police and military patrols with technical equipment such as fences, thermal imaging cameras and drones.”

But Mr Kurz urged people had to be “wary of the rhetoric around what form this security should take, and who should pay for it.”
Mr Kurz has previously voiced his support for closing borders to migrants. He recently toured a refugee camp in Gevgelija, Macedonia, where he praised the country for helping secure European borders.
Last week, the 27-year-old Foreign Minister said closing borders to deter migrants has become an accepted practice despite initial criticism.
Mr Kurz has become known for his controversial comments and policies, as he confirmed earlier this month, to introduce a burka ban and stressed, he "will not be deterred" from introducing the ban in the face of condemnation.

He said: "I get a lot of encouragement from Muslims who, like the majority of our population, do not want to have anything to do with the full-face veil, who deeply reject it, and agree that there is nothing wrong when the burka, niqab and co. are all banned here in Austria.

“It is clear that the integration question is not solved with the prohibition on a full-face veil.
“But it is a clear sign for those who disagree with the way we live and want a parallel society.”
