Ricardo Rodriguez is said to have been on Arsenal’s radar for some time with Arsene Wenger keen to strengthen at left-back.
Italian website CalcioMercato claims the 24-tear-old is a top target for the Gunners in the summer transfer window.
However, Inter Milan have reportedly closed in on Rodriguez and are now the frontrunners to sign the Switzerland international.

The Serie A giants were expected to bring the full-back in this month but were unable to reach an agreement with Wolfbsurg.
Inter initially wanted a January loan deal in order to stick to Financial Fair Play rules in Italy.
But CalcioMercato claims an agreement could not be reached and the Italian giants have now agreed to sign the defender in the summer.
