Cazorla has not played for Arsenal since October when he was forced to limp out of their game against Ludogorets in the Champions League.
The Spaniard was involved in training in the following days but broke down and has not been seen on the football pitch since.
It was hoped Cazorla would be able to return in March but the Spain international was forced to have another operation on his injured ankle.
Cazorla did join his Arsenal team-mates as they won the FA Cup on Saturday.

And he has now told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser he had his eighth surgery this week.
"It’s been a difficult season," he said.
"Since I last played in November, I’ve been through surgery eight times, the last one yesterday, and hopefully everything will go well."

He added: "I have had complications: I picked up bacteria in the operating room, the bone got an infection, the scar did not close and I had a skin graft.

"You feel like throwing in the towel, but desire to play football comes above all else."
Cazorla then revealed he faces another five months on the sidelines handing Arsene Wenger a major setback.
"I have not been told deadlines," he said.
"It is very difficult to put exact dates, but I don’t think it will be more than five months."
