Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea as their title bid suffered another crushing blow.

The Blues now sit 12 points ahead of Arsene Wenger’s men following their impressive display at Stamford Bridge.

Wenger left the likes of Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck on the bench for their trip to west London, despite the Frenchman being in fine form and the latter netting a hat-trick in his last start.

And when reflecting on Arsenal’s poor display against the Blues, defender Koscielny seemed to hint other players perhaps should have started the match.

He said: “I think we played some players in front of others and I think we should have played more as a team and there was space to do so. They hit us on the counter.

“It will be difficult now. Mathematically, nothing is done but we know that it is going to be very complicated.

“We need to come back to the quality of our game, our passing, movement.”

Wenger will likely be rotating his squads in the coming weeks with their next three fixtures all in different competitions: the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup.
