Arsenal are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick
Arsenal are reportedly plotting a shock move for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.
The 35-year-old has been instrumental to Jose Mourinho's success this season, but his future remains unclear at Old Trafford.
Carrick's contract runs out at the end of the season and The Sun on Sunday claim Arsenal are leading the race to sign the 35-year-old.
It is said Arsene Wenger is a huge fan of Carrick and is ready to sign him on a free transfer to help solve his problems in midfield.
Atletico Madrid want to sign Alexis Sanchez should Antoine Griezmann join Man United
Alexis Sanchez could be set for a £60million move to Atletico Madrid.
That is according to the Sunday Mirror, who claim Atletico manager Diego Simeone has identified the Chile international as a potential replacement for Manchester United-bound Antoine Griezmann.
Sanchez's future at the Emirates remains unclear as his contract situation is yet to be resolved.
But if no agreement is reached by the end of this campaign Arsenal will apparently cash in on their star man.

Arsenal fans reflect in their woeful defeat to Chelsea on Saturday
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has claimed he liked an 'Arsene Wenger out' tweet by mistake.
The Gunners suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat to Chelsea yesterday and following the loss Chamberlain bizarrely got involved in the 'Wenger out' debate by liking a tweet calling for his boss to be sacked.
But the winger insists it was accidental and we was not aware he had liked the post.
"I didn't mean to like that post earlier obviously… Didn't even realise I had!" Oxlade-Chamberlain said.
