Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms with Lateef Omidiji Jr

Lateef Omidiji Jr is currently with Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam's academy where he has caught the attention of Europe's top clubs.

Website AllNigeriaSoccer claimed yesterday Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal had all shown interest in signing the 13-year-old.

However, the Gunners are said to have seen off all the competition and have reached a pre-contract agreement with the promising young striker.

Liverpool have reportedly missed out on Lateef Omidiji Jr

The north London club reportedly have a deal in place whereby Omidiji Jr will train with the club every summer until he is old enough to sign a professional contract.

And now a source close to the deal has claimed the Gunners did indeed see off competition from Chelsea and also Liverpool.

Omidiji Jr is said to have rejected the other clubs' advances because Arsenal's offer was too good to refuse.

Arsenal's January-February form ranked from best to worst since 2007

“Chelsea came as well, so did Liverpool, to try and build a relationship early but Arsenal came with an offer that could not be turned down,” the source told AllNigeriaSoccer.

“Arsenal saw his potential and said they will invest in his growth. He is focused on his craft.

“Lateef will train in London a couple of times a year, and their coaches will come from there to the Netherlands to monitor him frequently and give him tips.”
