Arsene Wenger tried out a new system – playing three at the back as his side clinched a 2-1 win against strugglers Middlesbrough.
The Frenchman’s decision to mix it up at the back was the first time he had done so since 1997.
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil both got on the scoresheet, as the Gunners relieved some of the pressure off Wenger.

And Oxlade-Chamberlain thinks Wenger’s tactical gamble played a part in the victory.

“In the first-half it worked. Middlesbrough made it more difficult in the second and went direct.
“All in all it was a new system and we got three points and that’s all that matters.”
Arsenal remain in sixth spot in the table, seven points off fourth-placed Manchester City.
