Massive new ARK Survival Evolved PS4, Xbox One and PC servers are in the works
The development recently revealed that official ARK: Survival Evolved PC servers which support up to 140 Players concurrently have been launched, these new servers also have their own unique rules.
These include things like not being able to tame dinosaurs, boosted harvesting and EXP rates, tribes limited to 10 players and no alliances.
There are some big changes and are being used to dramatically change how the game is played.
The increase in server capacity is probably one of the standout new features, bringing a swarm of new people to the map.
While it’s likely that you usually run into people on The Island, the map is huge and could do with being filled up with a few more souls.
The problem of not having enough space in the most popular servers is also another problem, something which could be fixed it people felt like moving to one of these new experimental ones.

Another big news drop this week is that ARK Survival Evolved PS4 and Xbox One players will also get to try these new servers out themselves.
“We were able to achieve this as a result of some server-side optimisation, and have been running the change on our Experimental No Tame servers,” a message from Studio Wildcard explains.
“Over the weekend, we'll be rolling out the improvements network wide to our Official PC servers and shortly thereafter they will arrive on console alongside the major update with the latest content.
“For those interested in our latest experiment, here's the low down: We've just launched some new experimental Official Servers on PC!
“These are a bit different to our standard servers as they do not allow players to tame, ride, or breed creatures.
“ARK has a lot of core survival elements to it, and we wanted to see how players would find playing the game without the help of their trusty tames.
“Of course, this doesn't mean we're moving to a non-dino focused environment, it's just another customisation we've introduced for everyone So give it a go, let us know what you think.”
Studio Wildcard have also confirmed that they plan to try and keep these servers online for the long term, although they may only migrate to consoles if they prove successful on PC.
“Keep in mind these servers are experimental and will have some iteration done to them over the course of their existence. If it goes well, we'll keep em permanent and we'll bring them to console too,” Studio Wildcard adds.
While ARK Survival Evolved PS4 and Xbox One may have to wait to try out these new servers, February 12 should see the latest game content land on both consoles.
