The 38-year-old, who left New York City at the end of last year, had a trophy-laden 13-year spell at Chelsea during his career.

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard announced his retirement yesterday
“The whole world of football is disappointed when this happens, a great player finishes his career.
“For this club he’s a legend, played 13 years, won a lot here. We must respect his decision. Every player understands the right moment to finish.
“I have great, great respect. I didn’t know him but I’ve heard a lot of positive things.”
