Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United: Could the deal still happen?
Express Sport take you through the key questions on a possible summer deal.
Could Antoine Griezmann sign for Manchester United?
The answer is simple – yes.
Sources close to United are saying Griezmann is now not a priority, which makes sense.
The club desperately want to prioritise signing a No.9, instead, because Zlatan Ibrahimovic is injured. That too makes sense.
But although Griezmann is not a priority, it doesn’t mean they won’t sign him. Only a fool would rule out the move happening altogether.

Speaking at a press conference with the France national team in May
United last year paid out £86m to sign Paul Pogba – despite not being in the Champions League.
They were ready to lose £21m on an Adidas kit deal if they didn’t make the Champions League this time around.
Money is no issue for the Red Devils. While they may prioritise signing a No.9 – who we understand is Romelu Lukaku – they could quite easily buy both.
What are the bookies saying?
As of last night, it was seemingly a done deal. The odds on Griezmann moving to United were as short as 1/6.
But since the news has emerged today, the odds have continued to drift.

It’s now odds-on for Griezmann to STAY at Atletico Madrid. A move to United, meanwhile, is a best-priced 6/5.
How does Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban affect Manchester United’s move to sign Antoine Griezmann?
Atletico have made it clear they don’t want to sell Griezmann. He is their prized asset and their hopes of success rest on his shoulders.
While the ban stops them registering new players, it doesn’t stop them selling – so legally Griezmann can still be sold.
What’s more, they are powerless to stop his £86m release clause being triggered. So if United stump up the cash, Griezmann can and will leave the club.
