It's been 20 years since the tragic incident, but Anne was still, unsurprisingly, close to tears as she discussed the death during the show as the Loose Women panel – which today also consisted of Andrea McLean, Stacey Solomon and Janet Street-Porter – voiced their opinions on the question "What if…?"
After Janet had the audience in hysterics with the tales of her many marriages, Anne said: "I don't want to put a downer on it, but I was in Bristol yesterday doing a special report about cot death.
"Also that's where I started off my journalistic career and I ended up saying to them funnily enough if I'd stayed in Bristol, had my career in Bristol and brought up my family there, he might still be alive to this day, because that's where they made all of the pioneering discoveries."

Anne then insisted: "I didn't want to put a sadness on it," to which Janet replied: "No I think it's important because I can be trivial about things in my life but I think what you're saying, a lot of people can relate to what you've been through.
"And also, over the last 20 years there's been so many advances in medical science, people would think 'if only my child was born now and not then…'"
Anne stated: "Every time they make a discovery, you think 'what about that poor person that died five years ago?'
"But, it's life isn't it?"
