Chelsea are still reeling after missing out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United and are no closer to finding a replacement for Diego Costa.
Antonio Conte has told the Spain international he is no longer needed and has not taken the striker on the Blues' pre-season tour.
Andrea Belotti is said to be one of Chelsea's targets to replace Costa after his stunning performances for Torino last term.
However, Italian outlet CalcioMercato claim the Stamford Bridge club could be about to miss out on the forward to AC Milan.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Andrea Belotti
Milan have been splashing the cash this summer as they look to regain their status as a Serie A superpower.
The San Siro club have already snapped up Leonardo Bonucci from rivals Juventus, along with nine other new signings.
And CalcioMercato claim they are willing to try their luck with a move for Belotti who is reportedly keen on the move.
Milan, however, do not have the luxury of activating the 23-year-old's £87.5million release clause which is not valid for Serie A clubs.

Speaking earlier this week about a potential move for Belotti to Chelsea, club legend Gianfranco Zola said: "To be honest I was thinking Chelsea should go for Andrea Belotti in Italy.
"I thought that considering the type of qualities Costa has, that Belotti was the perfect fit.
"Costa was very influential last season, he’s a type of player who fits with the style of football at Chelsea, and that [finding a like-for-like replacement] will be the key for Chelsea."
Belotti made 38 appearances for Torino last term, scoring 28 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.
