Amir Khan and Kell Brook have endured a difficult negotiation for the fight
Khan and Brook had been in talks over a potential welterweight clash in front of a packed stadium for some weeks.
The Macron Stadium in Bolton, Khan’s hometown, is said to have been one of the venues discuss but the bout will now not take place at all.
And Khan’s representatives claim Brook’s father Terry called off the fight.7
Kell Brook lost to Gennady Golovkin in his last fight
"Terry stood up, shook my hand, said, 'We are not doing business', and walked out,” Khan's advisor Asif Vali told the Mirror.
But Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn, who runs Matchroom Boxing, claims it was an unreasonable offer of a 70:30 purse split in Khan’s favour that prompted the breakdown.
Amir Khan was knocked out by Canelo Alvarez in May last year
"We've had a number of meetings with Team Khan over the last few weeks and on Friday we had a further meeting in Bolton along with Kell's Dad,” Hearn said.
"We feel this fight is easy to make with a straight 50:50 split, but Khan's team felt Kell didn't deserve anywhere near 50:50.
“It was a very quick meeting!
"I think Amir wants a warm-up fight before Kell, but certainly it looks like this fight is dead until later in the year.”
