The pair had been in negotiations for a possible clash in May in the UK.
But talks broke down last week and Khan got embroiled in a Twitter spat with Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn.
The Bolton man is now focusing on landing another opponent before considering facing his fellow Brit later in 2017.
Amir Khan is considering fighting Kell Brook in 2017
Kell Brook has said consistently he wants to fight Amir Khan
And he told Brook to face his mandatory Errol Spence first.
He said: "It was a little bit silly to be talking, having that little row with him on social media. I think just let Kell deal with his mandatory.
"I could fight the winner of that to give myself another option.
"Kell can go ahead against Errol Spence and then the winner of that is someone I could fight.
70% to winner 30% to loser put your money were your mouth is!

"That could be my second fight this year in November."
Khan, who is recovering from hand surgery after his May defeat by Saul Alvarez, would consider facing the winner of Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman also.
He added: "Definitely this year, I want to win a world title fight, so those are my two options."
