The human rights lawyer is said to have banned the actor from attending an overseas event as she worries that he will miss the birth of their twins.
The 56-year-old was banned from making an appearance at the Aurora Prize awards show in Armenia because he said his wife would never forgive him if he was away when her waters broke.
The Oceans Eleven star is the co-founder of the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity, which is given to individuals whose actions have saved lives.
But, apparently co-chairing the selection committee is not a good enough excuse for George to leave Amal at home.

George revealed Amal would never forgive him if he missed the birth of their children
Speaking to the crowd at the event via video link, he explained: “If I came and my wife had twins while I was away I could never come home.”
George went on to add that he was at the ceremony “in spirit” as he prepares to become a father for the first time.
The couple’s twins were believed to be due in the first week of June but now reports in the US have suggested they could arrive “any day now”.
It comes after close friend Julia Roberts warned the pair that they will be in for a shock when their children are born.

Julia joked that the couple were in for a shock when their twins arrive
Speaking on The Ellen Show, she noted: “You know, nobody’s there with you at 3 o’clock in the morning when you’re just going, ‘What am I doing? Where did they come from and when are they going?'
“And then you sort of, you get through it and you figure it out and everybody does and it’s a trial and error and a whole lot of tears and it’s amazing.”
She continued: “They are a great couple and I think they don’t need advice from me or anybody else.”
