Alexander Armstrong was delighted to find he was a Pointless answer
Contestants on the BBC quiz show were asked to name an artist who featured in the top 40 biggest-selling albums list of 2015.
One of the players asked: "Am I allowed to say Alexander Armstrong?" to which the surprised host replied: "I'd be very flattered, that is nice of you!"
He then joked: "That's a very expensive way of flattering me."

But, the host and classical singer was shocked when it turned out his name was a pointless answer.
As the counter began to drop and then continued to go down, the audience laughed and then cheered when it hit zero, indicating that her answer was pointless.
Linda managed to add £250 to the prize fund and Alexander looked surprised and delighted, exclaiming: "Ah! That's so exciting, that is a pointless answer!"

An actor and TV presenter, Alexander released his debut studio album, A Year of Songs, in 2015.
It went to number six in the UK Albums Chart and even topped the UK Classical Charts.
He was previously a choir boy at Durham Cathedral and a choral scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge before meeting his comedy partner Ben Miller and beginning a career in comedy.
Earlier this week, Pointless aired its 1,000th episode, which divided viewers as it saw Richard Osman take over presenting and Alexander try his hand at Richard's job behind the laptop.
