Karim Benzema is reportedly thinking of accepting a club-record offer from Arsenal to quit Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old striker has apparently grown frustrated of constant criticism at the Bernabeu, and the Gunners are handing him a route out.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Arsenal are proposing to double Benzema’s supposed wages of £150,000 a week to £300,000 a week, which would make him the highest-paid player at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger has deemed the Frenchman his No1 target upfront for a number of years, and the goalscorer’s annoyance at Madrid speaking to other forwards ahead of the summer means he may head for north London.
Benzema is considered an ideal replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who is likely to move from Arsenal and help fund the Madrid star’s arrival.

Joe Hart is in line to fill the void at Chelsea or United
David De Gea has reportedly told Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho he does not want to miss out on another opportunity to join Real Madrid this summer.
The Bernabeu outfit have been chasing the Spaniard and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois to replace Keylor Navas.
But despite De Gea’s push for a switch, having come so close in 2015, according to the Daily Mail, Courtois is now preferred by Madrid.
If Alvaro Morata swaps Spain’s capital for Stamford Bridge, Chelsea will also apparently be willing to do business, whereas United are reluctant to lose their keeper.
If either does sign for Madrid though, £25m out-of-favour Manchester City shot-stopper Joe Hart is in line to fill the void at Chelsea or United.

Liverpool have reportedly warned Barcelona off Philippe Coutinho completely.
The Brazilian playmaker is said to be a major target for the Catalan club, with claims this week suggesting Barca were in advanced talks.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, Reds chiefs will reject any offer for the 24-year-old, who only signed a new five-year deal in January.
Coutinho and agent Kia Joorabchian apparently believe his long-term future lies at Anfield.
No talks with Barca have taken place over the attacker, who is highly rated by Neymar, and none will happen.
