Teacher Jonathan Norbury has been banned from teaching for at least 10 years
A fitness to practise hearing in Cardiff heard that in 2005 Swanseabased Jonathan Norbury began sexually touching Girl A, then 15, at least once a week in his car.
After her 16th birthday, he began an 18-month affair with her, starting when they had sex on the floor at Norbury’s parents’ house.
Girl A said she was a virgin when the incident happened.

She told the hearing: “As soon as I turned 16 he took everything because he could.”
Then between 2007 and 2008 Norbury sent sexual text messages, kissed and inappropriately touched Girl B when she was 15, the panel heard.
He took her into a cupboard in his classroom at the primary school where he was teaching at the time and told her to show him her underwear before kissing her.

Norbury also touched a third girl – Girl C – at his 25th birthday party, just a few days after she had turned 16 in 2006.
The panel heard that he took her to a park, removed her top and bra, gave her drink and encouraged her to perform a sex act on him.

Committee chairman Steve Powell said Jonathan showed no failing in his teacher abilities
Committee chairman Steve Powell said Norbury had shown “no failing in his abilities as a teacher”.
But the panel found Norbury had pursued girls for “his own sexual gratification” and his conduct “fell short of the conduct expected Sexual predator of a teacher”.
